Maruti Suzuki launched the fourth-gen Swift last month and witnessed a resounding success. The Indo-Japanese carmaker sold 19,393 units of the new Swift, making it the highest-selling car in May this year. Now, the company is planning to launch a new-gen Dzire based on the fourth-gen Dzire.
Test mules of the sub-4 metre sedan have already been spotted on numerous occasions in the last few months. This time images of the aftermarket LED headlights have been caught on cameras. The latest set of images have been borrowed from a YouTube video uploaded by MRD Cars.
The images have been clicked at Omkar Accessories Shop in Delhi. The video shows images of the new aftermarket headlight with a reflector LED setup and an integrated LED DRL which should give the car a more premium appeal. In its standard form, it is unlikely that Maruti will offer an LED headlamp setup even in the top–spec trim.
New Maruti Dzire: Exteriors & Interiors
When it comes to design, the new-gen Dzire will get a slightly different grille and bumper design, while the sedan’s stock headlights will be sleeker compared to the Swift. Previous spy shots have confirmed that the new Swift will offer a single-pane electric sunroof. Besides, alloy wheel designs are expected to be different from the current iteration.
On the inside, the new Dzire will carry a familiar layout as the fourth-gen Swift, including a 9-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument console, and a flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel. Other features expected to be included in the new-gen Dzire are a 360-degree camera, Suzuki Connect telematics, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and automatic climate control. Like Swift, the new Dzire is expected to offer 6 airbags as standard offering.
New Maruti Dzire: Powertrain specs
The new Maruti Dzire will be the second model after the fourth-gen Swift to get the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder NA Z-series petrol engine. This engine pumps out 81 bhp and 112 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties will be taken care of by a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT. There will also be a CNG derivative of Dzire on offer.
