In her address to a joint session of both Houses, President Droupadi Murmu emphasised the ongoing investigations into paper leaks and exam irregularities at a high level, urging a departure from partisan politics. She underscored the importance of sanctity and transparency in government recruitments and examinations, stressing these points in Parliament.

“The Centre prioritises providing equal opportunities to all aspiring candidates. My government is dedicated to conducting fair investigations and ensuring that those responsible for paper leaks are duly punished,” she said.

As she outlined the government’s initiatives in the education sector, some opposition members interrupted with chants of “NEET”. “Any disruption in examinations for any reason is inappropriate. Integrity and transparency are crucial in government recruitments and exams,” she asserted.

“The government is committed to conducting thorough investigations and ensuring severe punishment for those responsible in recent paper leak incidents,” she emphasised.

Highlighting past paper leaks in several states, the president stressed the necessity to transcend partisan politics and implement robust measures nationally. She noted Parliament’s enactment of stringent laws against paper leaks and reiterated ongoing government efforts to reform the examination procedures.
