Parliament Session 2024 News Live, President Address live: President Droupadi Murmu addressed a joint session of Parliament today, her first speech since the formation of the third National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government. Following her address, both Houses of Parliament will debate a motion of thanks. “The people of India have given a clear and stable mandate to the Modi government for a third time,” President Murmu stated, highlighting the recent electoral support. She also commended the voters of Jammu and Kashmir for their high turnout in the recent Lok Sabha elections and praised the Election Commission for overseeing the world’s largest democratic exercise.

On Wednesday, Om Birla was re-elected as Lok Sabha Speaker after a motion moved by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and seconded by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was adopted by voice vote.Birla called for a new vision and resolve for the 18th Lok Sabha, urging the House to be a centre of creative thinking and new ideas, and to establish high parliamentary traditions and dignity. He said the aim of the House should be to fulfil the resolve of Viksit Bharat.
