Ather Energy, India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer, issued a statement today for plans to establish its third manufacturing facility in Bidkin, AURIC, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra. This new facility boasts about manufacturing both electric two-wheelers and battery packs.
Ather currently operates two manufacturing facilities in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, with one focused on battery production and the other on vehicle assembly, which will continue its functioning. The new facility in Maharashtra helps Ather to reach more markets in the country, reduce logistics costs, and speed up the delivery of the finished products to the customers.
Mr. Swapnil Jain, Co-founder & CTO at Ather Energy, said, “With our expanding product portfolio and the increasing consumer demand for our scooters, we decided to strategically diversify our production capabilities to an additional location that will be closer to more markets in the country. With the rising demand for electric two-wheelers, Ather Energy has focused on boosting its production capacity, expanding its product portfolio and enhancing its network of retail outlets, and charging infrastructure nationwide. Ather currently has over 200 Experience Centres and over 1900 fast chargers, Ather Grids across India.
Ather is known for its 450 series scooters, including the 450X, 450S and 450 Apex. Ather recently launched Rizta, its first family scooter, designed for comfort and safety. The Rizta features a spacious seat, ample boot space, and safety measures like SkidControl, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Theft & Tow Detection, and Ping My Scooter. The Rizta S has a 2.9 kWh battery with a range of 123 km, while the Rizta Z comes int wo variants: one with a 2.9 kWh (123 km range) and another with a 3.7 kWh battery (159 km range).
