Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara: Engine Specifications

The Grand Vitara along with the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder are the only two hybrid SUVs. A mild hybrid technology is used in the affordable variants for both Maruti Suzuki and Toyota. The strong hybrid is powered by a 1,490cc 3-cylinder with an output of 92 bhp and 122 Nm of torque and mated to an e-CVT. The mild hybrid version, on the other side, gets a 1,462cc naturally aspirated petrol engine which produces 101 bhp and 136.8 Nm. This trim is available in two transmission options — a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic torque converter with paddle shifters.

The Grand Vitara goes up against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun and its doppelganger, Toyota Hyryder.
