Pakistan cricket team’s captain Babar Azam is considering legal action against YouTubers and former cricketers who accused him of ‘misconduct’ during the ongoing T20 World Cup, according to Geo News. Babar and his team faced heavy criticism from former players and fans due to their World Cup performance.

Sources told Geo News that a social media campaign targeted Babar during the tournament, leaving him feeling “disheartened.” The Pakistan Cricket Board’s legal department is reportedly gathering evidence related to the accusations made by the YouTubers and former cricketers.

This week, some team members and officials, including Naseem Shah, Usman Khan, and senior manager Wahab Riaz, arrived at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport. However, several players from the 15-member squad chose to remain in the United States after their surprising early departure from the tournament.

Babar Azam, along with Imad Wasim, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, and Azam Khan, are expected to come back on Saturday. Unlike their previous run where they made it to the finals against England, this time Pakistan’s campaign ended in the group stage.

They finished their campaign with a three-wicket win over Ireland in Florida, a game that held no significance as India and the USA had already advanced to the Super 8 stage from Group A. Pakistan struggled with losses to the co-hosts, the USA, and their arch-rival, India. Despite bouncing back with two consecutive wins, it wasn’t enough to advance further.

Pakistan’s next challenge is a white-ball series against Australia in November, starting with a three-match ODI series on November 4.
